Hello all
I saw where my oncologist is part of the following clinical study:

Observational Study of Docetaxel Exposure in Metastatic Prostate Cancer Patients

The web site is:

It seems similar to the CHAARTED study and since I fit the criteria (newly diagnosed, multiple mets, and on androgen deprivation therapy for less than 120 days prior to starting docetaxel therapy (only 49 days for me). I have an appointment on Wednesday and I am seriously considering asking him about it. Anyone have any experience with clinical trials? Should I light this candle or not? Thoughts?

It's very nice of you to participate and add to the body of knowledge. It's now the standard of care and everyone gets it, so there's no downside. Many will benefit.

Dear Dr. Ed,

Ironic --- you've been treating patients in your medical dental practice all these years --- and now considering a clinical trial as a PATIENT --- but still contributing to medical science, as you have done all these years, just in a different role ---

Let us know how your decision shakes out --- I'm always grateful to the gentlemen from the past, whose names we do not know, who must have participated in clinical trials all through the years for the new treatments and medications that many of us are NOW benefiting from years later --- I feel I owe them a debt of gratitude that I can not fully repay.

It's great that you've joined our brotherhood here --- keep us posted on your journey --- and keep sharing your experiences and insight !

Hi Dr. Ed,
Welcome to the site. I started Docetaxol on July 2, 2015 and continued to November 3rd of the same year. It knocked by rapidly rising PSA back. I hope that should you participate in the clinical trial you will derive a benefit as well. Best wishes.
