Hello Maldugs,
We've crossed paths several times on past threads. Saw your post on ZOLADEX injections --- a form of ADT shots --- not that many of us here who are on ZOLADEX shots ---
Started first on LUPRON, then tried FIRMAGON, and now I'm on ZOLADEX injections as you are --- so my oncologist has tried all three of these forms of ADT shots for my case.
I don't seem to have any blurry vision as you have described --- I might have an occasional feeling of dizziness that might last just a couple of seconds, now and again --- my oncologist has always said that can be a sign of dehydration, so I do strive to drink more water than ever before ---
In regard to ZOLADEX injections, I started on the once-a-month injections at the beginning. This past fall, my testosterone levels were staying consistently low --- so my oncologist said we could try the three month "slow release" injection --- however, this past month, we saw a spike in testosterone --- so I am going to request that we go back to the once-a-month injections, just so we can monitor things a little more closely --- I go in for a consultation and lab work every month as it is, so it won't cause me any extra inconvenience to return to the monthly shot ---
I also had testosterone spikes when I would go on multi-month LUPRON shots --- which led to PSA spikes ---
So, just for peace of mind, I think I need to return to once-a-month ZOLADEX injections, going forward --- that way, if a change is ever needed, I can switch to a new plan within a month --- in the past, when we saw the testosterone spikes during the four-month LUPRON shot, I had to wait four long months before we could try another strategy ---
I realize there aren't as many members on ZOLADEX shots, so I thought I'd chime in --- I hope you are doing well, Maldugs --- good to keep in touch here !
Sent with my best to you, Maldugs,
