what about safety of Lap Top computers/WiFi?

We hear warnings about possible brain tumors with cell phone use. I don't know if that has ever been proven or not, but there are recommendations to use a speaker phone or ear buds when possible especially for heavy use.

But what about lap top computers with a wifi connection being in our laps and an inch or two from our prostate bed, hours at a time? I know it is a different type of energy, but has anyone ever seen any warnings about that?

I carried my cellphone in my front pants pocket, and have always been suspicious that the phone was involved in my PCa .... I just raised the iPad off of my lap.

Thx guys. I figured it was non-ionizing but wondered if there was anything else to be aware of. Sounds like not.

Are the cell phones non-wifi network connections non-ionizing?

I do worry that the heat from the lap top is going to destroy my sperm count.

I'd agree that today you are more likely to die in a crash by a person using a cell phone than the radiation exposure causing a fatal cancer. That the heat from a laptop could cause dry skin, rash or a drop in sperm count.

However, I recall a 60 minutes piece from the 70's on a Motorola researcher who developed brain cancer after using a prototype cell phone. The phone he tested was ~ 10x more powerful than todays models and had a large, oddly shaped antenna. They never did make a direct link but I'm convinced because his tumor was in the exact spot where he held the phone and an Xray showed it was shaped exactly like the antenna.

So do put a little distance between your body and your gadgets. I also always wear my aluminum-foil protective hat just to be on the safe side.

It was about web reports claiming that some women who had been carrying their on-mode cellphones around tucked into their bras (convenient, I guess) had later developed breast cancer tumors in the very spots where the phones had been:

BTW and FWIW, I did a follow-up search this morning to see if about a year's time had produced any additional online wisdom about this phone-in-bra question, but I found nothing definitive one way or the other. It's looking like this may be one of those ongoing controversial topics for a while.

The cellphone industry is claiming, and actually they are correct at this point, that there is no scientific evidence supporting this theory. Meanwhile, some apparently responsible articles are claiming that there is definitely a connection, others that there is definitely not.

But it's also looking like this phone-in-bra question is generating some further puzzlements. For example, one article I found claims that it isn't the radiation from the phone, but rather the heat from it, that is causing the tumors. I even found one article stating that even men shouldn't be carrying an on-mode cellphone around in their shirt pockets, because it even increases their chances of getting breast cancer!

"More research is needed" is usually the way this story ends, so for now I suppose we'll just have to wait for responsible answers to both of these questions.
