Sexual rehab - how soon?

I had a robotic prostatectomy about 11 days ago. Surprisingly, I have been able to obtain an erection shortly after having the catheter removed. It was certainly unexpected, and I'm not sure if it will be a short term phenomenom or if it will last. With that said, I am wondering how early others have begun sexual rehab, or attempted to have an orgasm after surgery? I don't want to rush it or do something that might cause harm...

I would appreciate any input you might be willing to share. Thanks.

Mike, I had a similar experience. My doctor basically told me that I couldn't hurt anything down there once my incisions were solid. I think my wife and I tried for the first time at about 4 weeks. And regularly since.

There are different parts to penile rehab. You can go for the orgasms now, and feel free to include EDs with that if that helps. Do that daily if you can. Vigorous sex with a partner can be done whenever your doctor gives you the go-ahead - you don't want to rip the stitches. Ask him too when you can begin using a pump, and when you can start trimix (if you need it). It's all about keeping the tissues well oxygenated so they recover and don't atrophy.

My doctor started me on Viagra 72 hours after the catheter was removed but said not to even look at "it" for 4 weeks then start using the VED pump.

You have had major surgery, take it slow at first. Be a patient patient.
