Andy Grove was a giant in the Silicon Valley tech industry. His treatment of prostate cancer in 1995 inspired my own treatment. Grove devised his own treatment plan after doing extensive research, and he beat PC!

I remember reading his account of the HDR brachy that he chose back when it was not as well known as now. His account helped sway me towards HDR-B as my choice.

Loved the Grove article on prostate cancer. I may have recurrence and if confirmed I am going to hit it like Mike Tyson.

The article in Fortune magazine was one of the most instrumental factors in my HDR brachytherapy research and decision process. It was part of the first written information my urologist provided.

I was saddens to hear of his death. As a high-tech guy myself, I've known of the man and his PC plus his influence on the computer business.

He will be missed.

The article by Andy Grove is epic. The treatment debate still rages, even after more than 20 years. I know a lot of medical people- training and tradition are very strong influences. Innovation is a struggle. Only one thing can move the needle- a big, long term study :)
