UsTOO International is the leading support group for prostate cancer survivors. Tom Kirk has been President of that organization for 12 years. Today was his last day there. As an UsTOO chapter president for 7 years I know Tom well and thank him for his many years leading that organization. I wish him all the best.

Many groups have shrunk through the years but they are still a terrific organization. Online support has taken off and become quite a resource but sites like this one do not have live presenters such as doctors, health councilors, nutritionists, etc. Which makes UsTOO still very valuable. No problem guys. I've had a great experience with the UsTOO brotherhood. We have had a strong group here in Las Vegas. Not all groups are as strong. That is kind of hit or miss. UsTOO used to be strong with email connections but I found that to me a bit disconnected at times because they limited discussions to so many words and letters. I dropped out of that for that reason. But today UsTOO sponsors another great forum called Inspire. Here is that link:

Like Healingwell I find it strong in peer to peer support, but also like healing well I still find the live group stronger in live discussion.

Thanks for the great Post Tony.
I am Co-Chairman of the UsToo Group at Hackensack, NJ.
We meet the third Wednesday of the month from 10AM-12 noon at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack UMC.
This is a very active Group with monthly attendance of 25-30.
I have personally met with countless men who have benefited from attending Meetings over the years.
I can only echo your sentiments -- Thank you Tom Kirk!!

Always nice to see another group leader posting, Bob. Good on you for leading away.

Worth a bump because I have always heard positive reaction to our groups. People who say they never thought about attending a support group and finding the groups were not what they expected in terms of value but for the right reasons. They stay as regular members.

Folks, online support is absolutely terrific. It was a life changer for me. But so was the live face to face sharing and brotherhood. I have only attended one GFMPH gatherings that started right here at HW. But the value is true even there. UsTOO tends to be more structured with live medical professionals participating and consistent monthly meetings. But a great weekend at Sonny's house still rings in great memories for all those folks too.
