My
open RP surgery was performed in February 2010 and six weeks later my PSA was less than .008. My PSA began climbing and reached .020 a year later. For the last five years my PSA has bounced around between .020 and .025.
Somewhere, I read Cayenne Pepper makes prostate cancer cells in mice commit suicide, so I thought I'd give this supplement a try. If you google "prostate cancer cayenne pepper," you can read many links regarding this supplement including the mice study link.
I went to the Puritans Pride website and ordered two bottles of Cayenne capsules, 100 capsules @ 450 mgs. I took one capsule with lunch and one capsule at dinner. I've been taking Cayenne for three months, and each bottle was less than $10. I received a 10% off coupon with my first order, so I ordered another four bottles.
Until today, my last ultrasensitive PSA reading was .025 in January 2016. Today, I received the results of my ultrasensitive test taken five days ago, and the reading was .015 I've used the same lab from day one, and this was the first reading below .020 in five years.
You may say my .015 reading was just a fluke, but I truly believe Cayenne Pepper might actually kill PCA cells. For the small price of this supplement, it's worth a try.

Sunbird says: "I truly believe Cayenne Pepper might actually kill PCA cells."
So do I. See my post on diet and exercise.
But, I would reconsider how you get "capsaicin" into your diet for two reasons.
1. Regions that consume large amounts of red chili peppers have low rates of
prostate cancer, but high rates of esophageal and stomach cancer. Taking capsules
would likely increase your risk of stomach cancer.
2. In my view, if surgery/radiation have failed, then the plan changes from trying
to "kill" the cancer, to "containing" it. Attempts to kill it could result in changing
the cancer (mutation) to a form that is more resistant to treatment/containment.
They are starting to realize this in chemotherapy, where low dose, continuous
treatment can work better that the "give as much as the patient can stand" approach.

Apparently jalapenos do not have the same impact, as my DH has eaten bushels of them over the years, LOL.

PSA on January 17, 2017 was .025 without taking Cayenne Pepper Supplement. Began taking Cayenne Pepper Supplement, 450 mg once per day on April 1, 2017. PSA result on April 26, 2017 was .015. I do believe consumption of Cayenne Pepper Supplements does affect PSA.

Whatever the reason, PSA going down is good! Congrats.

Sadly my life long love of capsaicin laced peppers had no effect on preventing or treating my advanced prostate cancer. Unfortunately what works in mice does not always work in humans.
But I still eat the peppers anyway.
