how often psa after prostatectomy

I thought I had to take my psa 4 times the first year and then twice a year for 2 years and then once a year. Does that sound right? I had 4 test in 2014 (surgery 1/6/2014) then I went twice last year (2015) went in January this year and assumed I had to go back in July but I'm not scheduled till January 2017.
Not complaining just
want to make sure I do the right thing

I don't see anything wrong with that schedule. A lot of guys get a test every three months right off and then reduce the frequency of tests. Just means your doc is getting confident with the result.

Consider it a bit of a graduation.

My doc had me on a 3 month schedule for the first year, now my next test is 6 months after the last, and word is that after 2 years on a 6 month schedule I'll go to annual.

Do what ever your medico's say and if you sense a different schedule than first presented, query your doc on why the change and confirm the new schedule. We all have an opinion and different doctors with different schedules. What is important is what the schedule your medicos have decide. I am sure if one of us disagreed with your doctors schedule…You would follow your doctors unless your doc was a known quack…or we could convince{it happens] you he was.. Caveat Emptor on forum and in your medico's office. Choices…part of life…good luck

I was every three months the first year and then on the 6 month schedule the second year. At the end of two years my doctor said see you next year. I questioned if it was too soon to go yearly and he said if I wanted to come in sooner he'd be happy to take my money turn I took that as a very reassuring sign that he was confident in my future. Do what ever makes you comfortable, but yearly is a good thing.

That sounds a lot like the way my schedule went. I suspect your doc is feeling pretty confident that you're going to be ok.
