I just received my latest P.S.A. test results and I'm still rolling undetectable. I'm a very lucky person:
My story really quickly:
I had a prostatectomy at U.W. in June 09 after being biopsied as a Gleason 8, I immediately reoccurred and then had full pelvic salvage radiation followed by 24 months of HT Ugggghhhh!!
After the HT my P.S.A. began to double at an alarming rate, every three weeks going from .82 to 1.63 at one point. I knew that the rest of my life would revolve around HT and chemo so I looked for something else, at the time Dr. Meyers, Dr. Bravo and Dr. Dattoli were trying a new scan out that was thought to be able to detect cancer in the lymph nodes much better than anything else out there so I went to Orlando and saw Dr. Bravo who administered the scan. Dr. Dattoli called me afterwards and said he believed that he could pin point where my cancer was based on the scan and thought that we might be able to restart the clock on the cancer, he never talked about a cure only the ability to possibly re start the clock.
I decided I'd try the radiation after talking to some other individuals who had done the same thing and had good luck with it. I had Dr. Dattoli do his magic( I believe that is what it is) in October-November of 2012 and have been rolling 0's ever since.
Obviously there are people on this forum who have a different opinion of the treatment but I can only give you my experience and the outcome of it, which so far has been fantastic. We all don't follow the same path that's what makes this forum so informative I believe.
Good luck
David
