Due to my original Urologist moving from East Coast to West Coast, I had to select a new Urologist last year for my annual PSA check up. He is in the same large practice, and they have been making significant updates to their practice. I was able to look up my original post surgical notes, and did lean that my final PSA before the operation was not 10, but had risen to 11.7. I am happy to report that although I was a Glisson 3+4, my PSA today remains less than .03, undetectable! I still visit here each week, checking on how many of you are doing, but feel that after almost 9 years, my knowledge base is out of date. Guess the drinks are on me, so help yourself!

Dear Beachbum50,
That's great news --- undetectable levels --- beacon of hope, shining at the top of the lighthouse, for others to follow here.
You're nine years into the battle --- badge of honor --- veteran status, for sure --- I tip my hat to you, sir !
Your next goal --- thinking ahead, start planning a way to celebrate your ten-year run in this race --- you are within sight of a living a full decade, since diagnosis --- think of a special get-away vacation in the near future, as you now look forward to the ten-year milestone !
Beautiful sunny day, here in the Midwest --- just visited some friends and we were each drinking a cold Arnold Palmer (lemonade & cold tea mix) and relaxing in the shade on a summer day --- so, I'll have another one in your honor, Beachbum50 !
Handshake of congratulations, from across the miles,

Beachbum, congratulations, thats quite a nice run. May it continue for another 9 years and another and another.
I know that since everyone is different, one should not look at another with a similar case and relate it to their own. However, it is a natural thing to do, and its nice to see it play out the way yours did. It means a lot to guys like me, with your same pathology, except 5% of prostate involvement, to see your success. Especially with my 18 month PSA test coming up in a few weeks. (First one at 6 month interval)
So thank you for posting this.

Yeah, you go back here at HW nearly a year before me, but you have done very well for yourself in your PC journey. Very happy for you, I couldn't imagine having a PSA of .03, let alone 9 years into it. Enjoy your continued victory.

Good news, Beach Bum. Smart urologist to move to the West Coast. And the further north on the west coast, the better it gets!
All the best to you....Tim

Thank you all for you comments. Tim, my Urologist moved to Seattle due to his wife's allergies! ISU, I love having Arnold Palmer's myself, and after a very wet May and early June, we are having great weather this week in Virginia Beach, 80 degrees and low humidity. Pratoman, I'll keep watching and hoping you will continue in the Zero club! David, happy to see you may be thinking of writing another book I really enjoyed your last one, glad to see the VA is giving you the status you so richly deserve.

Hey beachbum congratulations !!! Pratoman is right, we shouldn't compare ..... But you he and I are all in a similar boat. So I won't put myself in your shoes, but I do take encouragement from your run. Stay healthy.

Beachbum,
Good to see an old timer doing so well! I don't get on here often but when I see a post like yours I have to give congratulations and wishes for your continued good health.
Enjoy the golf for years to come,
Susan
