That's a well documented side effect of blocking estrogen. Even men seem to need at least a little to keep us from getting moody (think menopausal women) and to help maintain bone mineral density. It also seems to help with the hot flashes. In fact, estrogen patches (the opposite of Femara) are being tried to halt prostate cancer progression.
If you are taking Femara to prevent gynecomastia, tamoxifen (10 mg) may be a better choice. It blocks estrogen in breast tissue but not in the brain, bone and other places where you may want some. In fact, it acts as an estrogenic agent in some tissues. It's a good topic for discussion with your oncologist.
