Greetings,
My first post here. Thanks so much for your info and support. I have been lurking here for a few months- thought I would say hi and give my story.
I am 57; diagnosed in October with Gleason 6. 2 out of 12 cores positive. One was 10% the other 50%. DRE negative. PSA is now up to 6 (as of May). It was over 4 in January- over 5 after a round of antibiotics. Another PSA is pending because I was called in earlier than expected after a Prolaris score of 3.7 (more aggressive). With all of these numbers, my urologist would like me to get treatment within the next 9 months.
I feel thankful that this was caught early. Of course at the same time this is all pretty scary. I am not interested in radiation. So my choice is to have surgery sooner, or to wait and get another biopsy in January. I am leaning toward the surgery soon for various reasons. Timing is good for sure. The weird thing is that I feel great physically.
I have done a lot of reading and the education you can get on line is pretty amazing. I know to take some things with a grain of salt, but you all seem pretty practical and logical. Nice group.
Anyways, thanks for listening. Any advice is welcome.
Be well, Doug
