Check-In with Good News & Thanks

I'm now seven weeks post RARP. We've had a rough time in Nice following the attack on 14 July, but I'm doing well in my recovery. I've been given the okay to run and to swim (but NO cycling or sit-ups).

The pathology report confirmed the biopsy: Gleason 7 (3+4) Stage T2c contained within the capsule of the prostate. The margins were clear.

I've been continent for a week. Just to have a feeling of security, I still wear a light 'panty liner' when I go out. Yesterday I ran 5 km without a pad and was sweaty but otherwise dry at the end of the run. I'm still doing Kegels, but I think I can probably stop with the physical therapist.

Tomorrow I start the next stage of rehabilitation - injections of Edex for ED. I meet with my urologist's junior partner ('Alexandre does that ...') to learn how to administer the injections. I'm to use Edex twice a week ('Whether you are in the mood or not, you do this for me. It will help recovery later ...'). (Quotes are from my rather amusing urologist.)

I really count my blessings - an accidental diagnosis (I had no symptoms); a successful surgery; and what seems an easy recovery. I also am really thankful for all the support from people on this forum.

I met with young doctor Alexandre today who did indeed give me a woody! 😉 As I'd been warned, this first erection did hurt. Next week I go back and inject myself in front of him. (Hmmmm, I'm sure I'll be able to stick a needle into my little buddy).

Chask - while I agree in general, today's gift hurt quite a bit. If anyone had touched it, woe be to them!

Halbert - agreed. My partial last week led to a frankly mind-blowing experience.
