Hello all.
Last week it was seven years since my surgery !!!!!
I didn’t find HW until after my surgery, but it was still a massive help, especially as I found myself having SRT too.
I really got keen about
the way HW helps and so, with the assistance of many of the men and ladies here - and especially James - I put together a thread with this list of “useful tips”:
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=35&m=1717641But this was about
six years ago!
I see that it has been viewed over 30,000 times, and this worries me a bit as I am almost sure that some of the information is out of date, and I think it is very important that the information at HW is up to date. (In my own case I remember getting confused when I had SRT that some of what I read in the hospital brochure was not the same as what they actually did to me e.g. the brochure said the beam would be from 3 different directions and the actual treatment was from 7!).
Some aspects of how to prepare and what to expect before during and after treatment won’t have changed, but a lot will have. I thus think that it would be an excellent idea if someone else, who has much more recent experience of surgery etc than me, were to look at the list and edit the text and repost it as a new up-to-date version. (And perhaps they could find a way to make it a slightly shorter post to make it easier to read and follow!)
It’s really not something I can do myself, so any volunteers?
Alf
