I`m going to start on one of the drugs for my weak urine flo ...getting ready for my Oct. Igrt`s and Hdr`s...Flo max..rapaflo etc...do any of you have experience with a few of these and see any.... reason to choose one over the other? I`m going to Doc. soon to get started on one ...Thanks

Flomax has been very very good to me. Tall Allen has had great success with Rapidflo. Both are excellent.

I have had great success with FloMax (tamsulosin). After HDRBT and IMRT, I have needed to keep on FloMax due to some weak flow issues. I tried to get off it, but I really feel the difference when I don't take it. I think I have another month and I should be able to get off it as most internal swelling issues should be gone. They usually start you with 1 pill of Flomax, because it is cheap and available as a generic (tamsulosin). If that's not enough, you can take 2 a day (I took both together at night). I liked Rapaflo -- it worked better than 2 Flomax and less effect on BP. There are about a dozen different drugs of this kind (called alpha blockers). Try one, and if that doesn't work, try a different one. Everyone is different and no one can predict what will work best for you.

Pre surgery bph for a year or so. Flomax definitely worked as advertised. No experience with the others.

Ditto on flomax -- worked for years as I had BPH

You have received good advice on the two go-to meds but please discuss the SEs with your doc. Flomax really worked well for me but not without some unwanted SEs.

had the same. Must admit to not taking it as consistently as prescribed
