Aid for testosterone return

Greeting fellow forumites.

Is anyone aware of anything a guy can do to help aid an expeditious testosterone return after ADT? I expect the answer is "wait...that's all you can do", but maybe someone knows of a diet or excercise regime known or expected to help T levels return faster than just waiting.

Good point Paxton. In the case of ADT (Hormone therapy) the clinician applies a drug that prohibits the normal production of testosterone. In the case of Lupron (My clinician's drug of choice) the method is to tell the "clock" that sends the production pulses to the testicles to speed up dramatically to the point of short-circuiting causing it to stop function. As the "depot" wears off, the expectation is that the clock will restart itself. Unfortunately, the unknown is when and how quickly it will regain its ability to pulse effectively again. In my case, I was only on HT for 4 months, so the expectation is that things should return to normal in a relatively short period of time, but there is no set schedule on how long, or how it will come back.

Well, I was adjusting for longer term use. Although it probably doesn't hold for me to do it that way. I know, totally unscientific.

But 24 weeks is 168 days, so 168/194 = ~0.86 , I used maximum days

My time from first to last 730 days (2 years), 730 * 0.86 ~= 628 ~= 21 months. Minus 7 (months since last shot) 14 months. Woo hoo!!

We have had discussions here about talking to your doctor about trying hCG and possibly Clomid to try to jump start the return of normal T production when recovery seems to be stuck or slow after the end of a period of ADT. If you type "hCG clomid" (without the quotes) into the search box at the top of the page it should find those discussions for you. The advantage of trying these first, the theory goes, is that if they work you avoid the problem caused by T supplements where your natural T production drops off and you become dependent on the supplements.

My oncologist wants me to wait another year before I start complaining about my somewhat-stuck T recovery but once he releases the brake I'll be talking to him about hCG, clomid, and if those don't work we'll talk about supplementing.
