Generally, how are you doing after surgery?

You are two weeks and a day out of surgery, catheter is out, I presume, how leaky are you at this point?

Do you know your Gleason score and your last PSA reading before surgery?

Have you gotten your post-op pathology report yet? Be sure to get a paper copy.

Let us know if we can answer any questions for you.

Don't forget to walk It's good exercise while you are recovering.

Your thread title is "New Kid On The Block" --- and I want to extend a handshake of greeting to you, now that you've joined our fraternal "Band Of Brothers" here --- thankfully, you've been checking in with us here over a period of time ... so even though you are the "New Kid On The Block" ... it's reassuring to know you've BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK !

You've gotten familiar with the website here --- we've got quite a network of members --- tremendous outpouring of comraderie right here --- care and concern --- support when you need it --- an ear to listen --- advice, if requested --- and most importantly, the collective sharing of treatment experiences, from the first-hand experiences of our members.

Knowledge and insight is shared here --- bonds are formed --- members "reach out" to each other !

From your treatment signature shown on your latest post, it looks like we're from the same age group --- had we grown up in the same town, I guess we might run into each other at the next high school reunion, in other words !

You can check in often --- share whenever you wish --- contribute to other posts that you see --- and share your experiences, along the way. You've taken that STEP and already become an active contributor now ... and we're glad to hear from you.

I'm already sending you my thoughts of support and brotherhood, as you continue to heal and recover from your recent surgery. Keep checking in with us --- now that you are traveling down TREATMENT TRAIL, I hope you are feeling like your pathway is leading you down the ROAD TO RECOVERY. From your post, it sounds like you are well on your way, and I'm thankful to hear that.

Welcome HBFF. Sounds like a great path report, especially with no (4+3) in your final numbers. And also sounds like you are well on your way to full continence.
I agree with Gemlin, speak with your Dr about keeping blood,flow,going to Mr Johnson down there, with daily Cialis or other Ed drug

Stick around and keep us posted, and help some of the new guys.

I agree, I think we all have occasional squirts. I consider myself fully continent, but this morning I woke up, had coffee, then drank approx 20 ounces of water as I always do with my morning pills. Then I fell asleep and woke an hour later pissing in my underwear. :-(
But it happens once every 6 months or so, and I can live with it.

Hi HBFF. Welcome to HW, even though you have been do active surveillance on us for awhile. It sounds like you decided what you wanted, got it done, and now are on the road to recovery. I wish you well with the recovery and long term health. Keep us posted and take care. -JR

Hello. B Mac. In my fact-finding and knowledge journey, I visited three separate very reputable cancer centers in Los Angeles area and all three of the doctors that I spoke with along with the oncologist all recommended surgery because of my age. I have friends who also have this problem most all up for the surgery. One had the radiation treatment and was not as successful in the long run. On a personal level I wanted to be rid of the cancer so that I could get on with my life. I felt this was the best chance to be in and out without further complications. I am a super active guy and wanted to do this once.
My Dr did put me on 1/4 tablet Viagra every other day so far for a week.
At two weeks I still have a perineum discomfort and a little leakage.
