Tall Allen- that is wonderful news! Makes us feel even better we chose SBRT for DH fav. intermediate PCa. I too look forward to reading the write-up of the
"Outcomes of hypofractionated SBRT boost for intermediate and high-risk prostate cancer" report.
Quite possibly Dr. Zelefsky was in Boston to hear all.
Paxton- sounds like you are in the best of hands with Dr. Hirsch. Soon you will look back at this as a distant memory. It's also nice to hear you will be all done before the holidays.
0311-nice to see you again here. Good luck with your 6 mos. PSA test. We see Dr. Zelefsky at Sloan in late November for his 3 mos. PSA. They are also going to check his T level. He continues to be without any side affects; he did not have any of the bloody rectal cell sloughing off that had been mentioned here. We don't know if the Spaceoar had anything to do with that. He no longer feels the slight sensation of a ball in that area from the Spaceoar either. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here. One thing we forgot to ask and I don't know why was how much Gy (is that the correct term?) would be given at each SBRT session. I'd like to know too so I can share that info here for others.
Hubby wants to make a mini vacation out of it in the 'big city'. Woo-hoo...Cheers to you!
RedWing57- yes, it is exciting to hear. I wonder if the improved outcome is from more precise technique with better technology.
Sr. Sailor-thank you for posting the info regarding the latest study and keeping all of us up to speed with the latest news.
