Over the counter testosterone boosters

Has anyone tried or knows someone who has tried using the over the counter T boosters, and if so, what experience you have had?

I know I have low T because I have absolutely zero libido, and no energy to do anything. I have no problems getting rock solid erections when stimulated by hand, but I have no desires. ZERO! I don't think about sex any more, or get excited seeing a naked woman, I feel nothing, so I know its my T level.

My last T test showed 270 which my doc said was low but not low enough to prescribe testosterone , and because I had prostate cancer, it is not recommended anyway. I have zero psa for the last 9 years, so I think I am cured, but the doc and the uro refuse to give me testosterone.

Tall Allen might come around soon with more specifics, but Dr. Morgantaler (sp?) at Harvard has published quite a bit of research regarding the use of testosterone therapy after prostate cancer treatment. He published one study, admittedly a small sample and not randomized, that showed little to no PC impact to introduction of testosterone therapy after treatment. He can probably supply a link, and you could show it to your docs.

If that doesn't get their interest, try another doc? I went through years of low-T hell (levels like yours, but I was symptomatic) before my uro finally agreed to supplement. My levels went down to 190 at that time. Now, 3 1/2 years later, all that is unsure once again.

A T of 270 is very low - how low does he say it must be before he will prescribe it?

There are a couple of small non-randomized studies that support testosterone supplementation in treated men. You can try sending them to him and asking for another discussion:

Another approach might be to try to stimulate more natural production of T from the testicles using human chorionic gonadotropin and Clomid. Maybe he's willing to prescribe those for you.

My Uro does prescribe T for RP-treated men after they have a convincing series of undetectable PSAs. There are many Uros who do these days.

A friend of mine is using Toremifene/Farestone when interrupting his ADT3 to bring up his Testosterone quickly.
