Radical prostatectomy 6 years ago and PSA is suddenly rising

Had prostatectomy done in 2010 and since then my PSA has always been less than .01
Just got a new blood test back and PSA was .06
After my prostatectomy I had no chemo or radiation as no cancer was found elsewhere. Maybe I'm overreacting but thought I would reach out for anyone else this may have happened to.
This site was very helpful 6 years ago when I had to make decisions.

Hi jedabuck-

That's certainly alarming after all this time. Could you please share some of your pathology details: Gleason score, stage, Pre-op PSA, positive margins?, LNs?

I'm sure you'll want that confirmed -- lab errors do happen. The good news is that with early salvage, the cure rates are very good. And with all this time for your tissues to heal, radiation toxicity should be a lot less.

I was about six years past surgery when psa started to rise. I waited to about 8 years to get SRT. Finished 39 sessions of IMRT last year with no new issues. PSA still not stable, maybe bouncing.

I vote for a retest. An out of band result needs to be confirmed.

If it is confirmed, then you need to start making the rounds of the doctors again.

(1) Lab Error 98.5%
(2) Something Else 1.5%
