Had an AUS implanted 1/11/2011 and activated 3/9/11. It has worked good but notice little leakage, nothing major but just a little.
Does anyone know what the average life year is for the devices before they fail?
Can they be replaced or updated?

TV: I had an AUS installed a couple of years ago and it has been working great up to this point. Obviously everyone is different but I have heard the average shelf life for an AUS is between 7 and 10 years. I've spoken to quite a few guys who have had the installation and some have needed a tune up from time to time tightening of the cuff or a mechanical issue but overall they are suppose to last for sometime.
Good luck

I have one and my doctor said 10-12 years average.
One of his patients went 16 years.
