Should we do this? We can have Best Caregiver, Best Newbie, Best All-Around, Most Helpful, Lifetime Achievement Award...to name a few categories. We could post a poll and vote. Just a thought of mine that may get voted down, anchored, locked. Maybe too much effort and will take away from the purpose of the board.

Sadly, we should somehow recognize and remember those who have lost the fight and left us in 2016.

I was wondering the same about halbert...my view on the gold stars...er no...any one who accepts the gold star is automatically disqualified...not being contrary...that appellation would be a pidgin hole...for negation of spirit.. Its a idea from yesterday's yesterday...Thomas would not approve...he is a Mann of tomorrow...imo...

Maybe no "stars" but as a newer member, I feel that we owe many of the veterans quite a lot. They not only share what they have learned over their tenure, but they also offer moral support that can come from nobody other than a brother who has made the journey.

Yes we do and you just gave that to those vets...do we need recognition that we recognized them...where does it end...Im still waiting for tv to have an award ceremony for the best award ceremony...Good grief let's get into the 21st century before it's all over...Can't ya see the course of history and its trajectory...Pre tense...nervous stop and chats...that leave all engaged unsettled and guilty...live life untethered by the past...and get with real interface with your fellow man...sheesh ...do I have to think of everything............... Its not a slight to the faustman that someone has to ease for him..then feel better bout his own self...its fricken just doing the right fricken thing as each situation presents itself...it takes fricken DISCERNMENT TO NAVIGATE THAT MINE FIELD. Its doable lessen you worry bout what who's hoo is gonna stink.. the word " you" is generic not specific to anyone...lessen they want to wear it for some god awful reason... "Wake up every body" great song by Teddy Pendagrast...you tube it listen to it and for Laud"s sake LEARN... get out of matrix sac and originate...create... Damm that felt good...glory... In a very counter intuitive way Trumps election actually portends this trend...he personally does not but his election will produce that fruit...I could write on how...but I stay weary......plus I am not among the favored few who can talk politics...except by my excellent bob and weave skills...take it or fake it...

I'll try not to post after 2 hours of surfing and 3 hours of more cardio and gym work followed by 2 bottles of 8% icy cold ipa's at home with a big bowl of self popped pop corn and quacamole chips and salsa...try is the operative word...creative...but...admittedly over the top... nono

Don't give up on this Faustmann. I just saw the post and it's a good idea heading into 2017. I nominate Jpenn for memorial. Todd for all around. TA for most knowledgeable. ICU cyclone for helpful. If someone starts the poll, I'm sure the responses will be plentiful.

I think we should give it to Bob Dylan or George C.Scott post humously...or heck why not everyone that has ever lived...I mean we are all the same...none any better and any worse than the next...I mean there is 'no evil or no good' as was recently postulated by an OP...I want the most annoying one ...just for me...I bet we can find a category for everyone here...I could actually help match the category with the poster.. heck "lets put on a show" with andy hardy as the host...um! host...thats kind of macabre...maybe fitting...ok your on... the thumbs down is but a click away...

while I think the idea is admirable, I think there are far too many guys who truly offer support and help to single out just a few.

And yet, (not to be quite as elliptical as bololidat), part of the idea has merit for me. The idea of a memorial list of those brothers that we've met here who have fought the good fight and finished the race. (I trust no one objects to my quoting from a religious text with that sentence). And/or, it could include those who were lost to this disease who we knew from our own lives. After all, they live on in our memories, and that gives them value as well.

And then...

I could quote from a "religious" text as well from the en-spirited one of same...but you wouldn't like it...tho cogent to da max...then we would be in the elliptical paradox of all time...suffice it to say...this thread continues to breathe the spirit of this forum...as each poster reveals...that which is not meant to be concealed...hence negating the pretense from the real...its one thing to praise...it lifts malaise...a simple thank you as we graze...a nod of the soul...clears the haze...

Faustmann...Thomas is proud...I say it LOUD...thank you...

Oh...and Halbert thank you for teaching me that meaning of the word elliptical...it fits.. as it stretches the geometry of the multiverse...

I understand the downside of doing the awards, too many categories, not everyone gets a trophy, etc. And I had a really good nominee for the bah humbug award! LOL.

I will, however start a thread in memory of those we have lost in 2016

Everyone on this blog gets an award. We are all brothers in arms. No favoritism just overall appreciation for this wonderful brotherhood

I vote for HW -- the entire PC Forum.

Just think what a wonderful resource this is.
It provides support and information to an amazing degree.
