Brother having RP this coming Monday

I think that a couple of you guys (compiler, sheepguy) have "jumped the rail" and have been posting in the wrong thread, again. Your comments-about-my-comments (ok, where's the value in that?) don't line up with my comments in this thread. I'm having a conversation with Michael_T, not his brother.

Here's a summary of JackH's inputs in this thread to Michael_T:

• Post #1: wishing his brother well
  
• Post #2: highlighting that post-surgery upgrade in Gleason score is typically not a big deal
  
• Post #3: stark reminder that the severity of side-effects varies quite randomly; similar cases can have vastly different results, even from the best surgeons (in other words, don't beat yourself up over the known randomness)
  
• Post #4: my suggestion to offer your brother valued PC insight and love, not uninformed BS

Michael_T, it's up to you of course to pick-and-choose what feedback will be appropriate in your unique situation with your brother. He's lucky to have you to support him—you haven't experienced a radical prostatectomy yourself, but you know a bunch of guys who have!

Yes I did, great outcome.
I also know of two men who used him as their surgeon. One about 4 years ago who has done extremely well and the other man had surgery last Monday. He was released from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon and having the staples and catheter removed today. By early accounts doing well also. Both of them are close personal friends.
You have made a wise decision in going with the doctor who has done thousands of these surgeries.

Sorry I missed this thread earlier...I had my RALP by Dr. Figenshau at BJC in Feb of last year. No issues at all. IMO, BJC/Wash U/Siteman deserves a much better national reputation than they seem to have. How's he doing?
