Continuous prednisone with Taxotere?

For those who have gone the Taxotere route, did you take prednisone continuously or only surrounding the days of treatment. The dr. Has my dad taking it 3 days- day before tx, day of tx and day after. I've read of a few that have taken it continuously and feel like with my dads age (79), it might be beneficial for him. The weakness is his major side effect and he feels so much better when on it.

Anyone have thoughts on this?
