In the practice of science, one of the rules is this: "No number of testimonials can
prove a hypothesis, but it takes only one counterexample to
disprove a hypothesis."
Another science protocol is: "When you present a statement as fact, you cite your sources."
Please list those 'quite a few published studies' you claim exist. Thanks!
Once again, with real school spirit - I am a medical cannabis consumer and a relative expert on the topic with more than 45 years in the field. I have a ton of real world literature on cannabis and its medical uses. The most recent is this one you can look up on Science Daily:
The most recent cancer and cannabis study was by Guillermo Velasco and colleagues, at Complutense University, Spain, in
2009, here is the pertinent excerpt:
"In the study, THC was found to induce the death of various human brain cancer cell lines and primary cultured human brain cancer cells by a process known as autophagy.
Consistent with the in vitro data, administration of THC to mice with human tumors decreased tumor growth and induced the tumor cells to undergo autophagy. As analysis of tumors from two patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (a highly aggressive brain tumor) receiving intracranial THC administration showed signs of autophagy, the authors suggest that cannabinoid administration may provide a new approach to targeting human cancers."
There has been no follow-up study published. You will note that the mice were administered THC intracranially - through the skull directly into the brain. I won't try that myself, though you can give it a shot and get back to us if you would like.
On the other hand, if you wish to try herbal treatment based on decent recent science that is likely to be of more interest to us here:

Summary:
"Consumption of a bioactive compound from Neem plant could significantly suppress development of prostate cancer. Oral administration of nimbolide, over 12 weeks shows reduction of prostate tumor size by up to 70 per cent and decrease in tumor metastasis by up to 50 per cent, report investigators."
Nimbolide can be found in Neem leaf powder, it is cheap, legal and readily available. I started taking it as soon as this study was published. The first blood test I took 3 weeks later showed my PSA increase slowed from 88% per month increase to 12% over 6 weeks. My next blood test is in 3 weeks, I will report back on the results.
My thought on this topic is this: there is no science to the claims that smoking pot cures cancer. It is wishful thinking, though if you are desperate and have exhausted all of the standard treatments, go for it. Otherwise, I suggest following the science rather than believing **** or **** on the pot sites.
