Anti-Androgen Withdrawal Response

Happy New Year to all.

So going with my gut, I decided to leave my Trial (SW1214). The travel to New Hampshire from the South Shore was getting to be a pain. In addition, the cross state Insurance delays were getting to me. Any how, I transferred my care to Mark Pomerantz at Dana Farber. Looking at my test results, his opinion was that the Monster under the Bed had begun feeding on the bicalutamide (Casodex), and he immediately had me stop taking it. My PSA was inching up slowly through September 16 for the last year and he based it on that information. My PSA when tested on 12/29 during my visit was 0.70 up from 0.29 3 months prior.

So I am looking at seeing if Anti-Androgen Withdrawal Response is a real thing. I have not seen anything in the forum about it, and am interested in any ones experiences. On a final note, my yearly Bone and CAT scans showed no changes from last year.

Yes, it's certainly a real thing.The androgen receptor starts to be able to use bicalutamide to stimulate growth. It doesn't always occur, but they often try it to see if it works
