Hello Brothers,

Anyone here know anything about in-situ gene therapy (Suicide Gene Therapy and where research is at with trials. Not much news on this.

I think (!) that your question is way ahead of the state of the art in current medicine. Some diseases (such as certain kinds of cystic fibrosis) are caused by 'simple' mutations. Unfortunately, and AFAIK, prostate cancer originates from several genetic mutations. "Fixing" those will require an immense effort. Just my opinion, of course.

The current genetic therapy for select prostate cancers is called "Provenge". Some of us here have had that treatment, though I am not one of those.

OK; the approach that is highlighted in the above write-up is different from what I was thinking about. As a result, I searched clinicaltrials.gov and used "suicide gene therapy" as the key.
25 studies showed up; some completed, others ongoing or recruiting
I hope you can find some inspiration from that source.

I looked at one study because it was related to prostate cancer:

And, lo and behold, it had results!

Gene therapy might well be the future of cancer treatment...for our sons or grandsons. It is still a science in it's infancy. That doesn't mean that I would stand in anyone's way who wanted to participate in a trial. Somebody has to do it. I've watched the downside of doing non-mainstream treatments.

I strongly agree...the field of cancer gene therapy is rapidly maturing and will no doubt be an increasingly significant part of the future of cancer therapeutics for our sons and grandsons generations.
