In retrospect, I made the decision with insufficient information. I found this site 2 days before the surgery.
Aaahhh...I see...unfortunate to see a low-risk case suffering side effects—hate to see any man suffering side effects, but especially low-risk cases. Well, at this point concentrate on getting back as much as possible to where you were before, and at 6-months I suppose it is still a bit early to call your recovery done.
It sounds like you are 6-months down the road from RP and suffering from ED, and your physician has not YET started you on any PED-5 inhibitors (viagra, cialis, etc)? Is that right? More typically, this is done right away after the catheter is removed...like, in week #2. I'm surprised.
I'm also surprised to hear your PSA report (from the lab) reported "0.0" because there is no such thing. I've never heard of a lab making this error. Again, I'm surprised.
Your prostate was huge (105g). That's almost 4X normal. I'm surprised you weren't treated pre-surgery to reduce the size in order to minimize complications (or were you...you didn't mention this key step), as this is a common technique for over-sized prostates. Did your surgeon report any issues due to size? Had you been experiencing BPH symptoms prior to diagnosis?
