Don't take this too seriously - it's just an epidemiological study from NSW, OZ. It attracted my attention because I could not believe the sex categories (in a lifetime? in a month?). So, FWIW, here are the risk factors they identified and their relative weight:
Paternal history of PC - 2.3
History of prostatitis - 2.3
BPH -2.3
Obese - 1.4 or Overweight - 1.3
≥7 sex partners in a lifetime - 2.0
≥5 orgasms/month at time of Dx -1.6
Puberty started later than peers - 0.8
Adult body size, sexual history and adolescent sexual development, may predict risk of developing prostate cancerFor each risk factor you had (assign "1" to the risk factors you don't have), multiply the numbers together. So for example, if your father had PC and your puberty started at age 18, your risk score would be 2.3 x 0.8 = 1.8. The highest risk score would be 54.5; the lowest risk score would be 0.8. There is no science behind this - I'm making it up because it's raining and they've asked folks in LA to stay off the roads so I can't drive to the gym.
I'll arbitrarily divide it into these 5 categories:
2.4 or less
2.5-5.5
5.6-12.4
12.5-19.9
20.0-54.5
