I had a partial colon resection 10 Months ago. Although the surgery seemed a success, I ended up with a very sore and tender tail bone/sacrum. Before surgery they stuck a protective pad on me that was supposed to protect my tail-bone/spine, but I think it did the opposite. Before I could fully understand this problem I discovered my PSA was rising after 4 years, so I dropped the tail bone/sacrum problem and focused on Radiation Treatments….
I am now 6 weeks out from completing RT and my tail bone/sacrum continues to hurt making me think of the possibility it’s not the operation but the cause could be PC.
So I decided to get my PSA tested at 6 weeks on my own. If PSA went up, then I have to focus on mets with the butt/spine area being a possible target. If PSA goes down, it gives more credence in talking to a muscle/skeletal Doctor for his opinion about my pain. Plus….. I just wantsta know my progress!
Very-Very Happy to report my PSA went from ~0.25 down to 0.166., Thank you Lord!
I know this drop does not confirm everything and it will take many months for this to all play out, but I am very happy knowing some, if not all, was in the radiation target area.
Lastly, if anyone had lower spine bone or lymph node mets in this area, I would like to hear how it felt. Mine feels like soft tissue. It does not hurt to move but if pressure is applied a dull aching pain slowly develops in one area. I’ve had sacrum pain before but this is much different. My Chiropractor thinks my sacrum has moved to Toledo.
Drinks on me tonight!
Thanks -Ken
I'm good with either a Cab Sauv or gin and tonic, whichever you prefer to buy me! This is good news, the opposite of a doubling time I guess! At the absolute minimum, it is better news than having gone up some more, congrats!
