Is Proton Beam Therapy. viable for IDC-P?

Age 71, diagnosis 10/27/16 PSA, 5.54, 2 cores of 12 pos. Gleason 4+3, lesion 1.5 cm, "clinically contained". Currently on 2 three month Lurpon HT. Casodex first month, also. Second shot tomorrow then scans in July. Scans in 1/11/17 showed 2 small spots in anterior lymph node and bone scan lit up a spot on skull and a spot on jaw bone.

I think IDC-P has to be treated as high risk. That would mean you have to treat it as relatively radioresistant and give it more than the usual dose. You can't get proton monotherapy up that high, and because you'd have to mix it with whole-pelvic IMRT anyway, what would be the point? The gold standard would be a brachytherapy boost to the prostate.

I hope the skull and jaw bone lesions on the bone scan are not metastases. You'll be able to tell in a couple of months - if they are not reduced, they were not metastases.
