M1 trial update 4/8/17

Hey guys I am in Houston at MD Anderson, just finish all my pre-op work ups and met the anesthesiologist. My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning I have to admit I am starting to get a little nervous. It was a hard decision to make surgery or radiation, I guess only time will tell. Oh well no looking back now it happens in 4 days. Now, I just hope it helps the way they think it will. If you are not familiar with the trial or haven't read my previous posts is to prove that removing or radiating the primary leison will slow down the spread of the metastasis.

Best of luck with it, Ron. Do they do an ePLND with it, or is it just the prostate? Will they spare the neurovascular bundles?

BTW -Tony Crispino was looking for guys in that trial to interview for an analysis he is is working on. He'd probably love to hear from you, if you guys haven't yet connected.

I will be thinking about you. You are in great hands at MD Anderson. In about 2 weeks it will be 1 year since Doc Chapin fixed me up. He's really good. They will take good care of you in recovery and afterward as well. My wife was there for her renal cell carcinoma about 12 years ago and I know many folks that have been treated there for all types of cancers. I was there last week to see a urologist that specializes in ED. You will be fine Ron. Keep us updated.
