Hi Mary. My first cynical response to the headline was, it would be better to play with golf clubs!
But more seriously. I have never had a port, but as an avid golfer agree with Dan. My wife has had two ports for chemo and with each she was able to continue her swimming and tennis. Her ports were both on the upper left chest.
If that is where Dan's will be I can see where it might infringe on his swing. Her port was not a sore spot, but she did have to be a bit careful with some activities. Since he has already had a number of infusions, how many more to go? Are his veins holding up well? Why the port now, but not before the infusions started?
Wish I had better information, hopefully someone with real life experience will chime in. Best wishes and help him stay on the short grass.
