Just had my first collection today for Provenge. Dr. Lam now has me on Lupron, Zytiga and now Provenge. Anybody else following this protocol?

Hello... do you have a port? I am guessing you will get the t-cells infused what monday? I had provenge last June for me I was not to excited about the 18 gauge needles and three hours of cant scratch your nose.
I have been on lupron since 2/2014 every 3 or 4 months and could not handle xtandi fatigue so started zytiga a few months ago. I really believe the provenge has kill a bunch of bad guys, but cant prove it.

Hi Howard,

I just finished my 2nd week of Provenge. They collect my cells on Mondays and I get the infusion on Thursday's. I only have one more week to go since I had a temporary port put in. The advantage is I didn't have to wait a week for my arms to heal.

To answer the rest of your questions, I have been on Lupron since November 2015 and my Doctor stated Thursday that he was going to keep me on it. Presently I am not on Zytiga, but it has come up in our conversations. Next week is my last Provenge treatment at which time he is going to do a PSA test and we would discuss a plan of action in May on my next visit.

Not for sure what he has in mind, but I certainly will keep you informed.

I finished Provenge in September 2016. I was on Eligard and Xtandi at the time, and still am. Not exactly your regimen but I wanted to say that I was able to handle Provenge without trouble . Keep up the fight!

Thanks Thomasjohn for you reply. I go have a port and they will use it for the infusion on Monday. I have not tried Xtandi but the Zytiga has me about a tank halful on energy. Yes I am in Southern California.

Howard I,
Xtandi knocked the heck out of me with the full does 4 pills. I had fatigue all the time. Zytiga is not as bad fatigue wise but good gosh if I do some work outside in 20 minutes I am done. No side effects from Provenge.
We loved Southern Ca a bunch when we lived out there. I lived in Northridge wife lived in Canoga Park. Met at work in Chatsworth and rolled a few houses in Simi Valley. Had a great territory, from OC line on 405 to Santa Barbara. BUT traffic was bad then in the 70's and 80's.

Zytiga has me about a tank half full on energy aka fatigue

The only side effect of the Provenge is you are a bit tired the day they collect the white cells and the day you get your infusion.

The day after the infusion, I seem to be full of energy and can't find enough to keep me busy.

Let me also suggest you check out a website by another Healing well "brother", Todd Seals, http://toddseals63.blogspot.com/.

His story and his battle with PCa is very compelling. He was a key reason I decided to do the Provenge therapy. He and I both agree, we want all the bullets we can get.
