7 wks post surgery threw a couple clots jogging...

On treadmill. Probably nothing right? Just a shake out maybe. Little pain in perenium area but kind of had that earlier in day anyway. Incontinence still a bit of a problem with this kind of activity. I really want to start playing tennis again but figure that would really torque things and I'd leak like a sieve.

Likely nothing. If you're concerned a quick call to the doc might be in order.

Take it slow on resuming activity and listen to your body. It's major surgery and takes a long time for the deep healing to happen. Personally, I'd focus on walking and just building basic strength for a few more weeks before trying something like tennis.

but your milage may vary.

Take it easy, dun force yourself.
Would suggest to walk on roads or tracks...have view on the surrounding, make it relaxing rather then on machine at early stage of post surgery.

I'm a tennis player. I waited a good 8 weeks before hitting with a friend for about 1/2 hour one or two times. I then took a one hour lesson, and returned to my regular doubles game a couple weeks later.

Take it easy as you get back into your pre-surgery routine.

I was about 7 or 8 weeks out and, while using the john, out of nowhere had a slight red tinge in my urine along with a couple of what, I assumed to be, clots or stitching. The clots only happened once, and by the end of the next day the tinge was gone. I attributed it to leftovers. Nothing afterwards.

Thanks guys! No recurrence so it could well have been a one off. But I will take it easy and try to slowly get back into the exercise. It is tough holding back when you feel okay.

Be careful! I had some clots that turned into obstructions, requiring painful visits to the ER.

I will. An additional finding today is some red blood along the side of stools and some in the toilet paper...but I was straining a bit I guess. Just have to remember that this is a long haul deal. I will keep exercise very low impact and start taking stool softeners mad

Also - do I get a PSA test at 3 months out? Is that the standard?

3 months is standard for the PSA test.

and remember that a drop or two of blood can look like a lot on paper. stool softeners, plenty of water and walking help.

Wow, you are motivated to get active which is wonderful. Good spirit! However, please, please be careful right after the operation and do what your body tells you. If you feel pressure or pain in the area, stop exercising.

Please realize a lot was cut and reconnected during the operation, including the tube from your bladder to the penis. You do not want to damage this! I'm not a doctor, but please be careful regarding tennis, jogging and other things until everything heals good.

Walking is one of the best exercises while healing according to my doctor and I could not agree more with him. I healed quickly. If you see any clots of blood, this is normal. I had them occasionally and became quite concerned until I found out they were normal. Not a nice site, but it is normal according to my doctor as long as they are seen only occasionally. According to him, they should go away, which they did.

Good luck and once again, I like your spirit, but please give your body time to heal. Sometimes it heals slower than the mind wants, but it does heal.
