Billybob, you should really read the book "undoctored" by Dr William Davis. Everything contained in what you quoted in your last post, is embodied in that book.

Thanks, that is one I have not read. I am just now starting, just as a matter of general interest, "Curing the Incurable- Vitamin C, infectious Diseases and Toxins" by Thomas E. Levy, MD, JD. Now, before every one shoots me for being such a gullible imbecile( I even have to explain to my far more conventionally oriented RN wife why I would want to read such ), keep in mind that there are at least 3 reasons I do such.
1: just as a general interest in the pros and cons of similar subjects(I like to read the skeptics as well).
2: Remember my personal experience when I used a fairly high dose, ORAL combination of Vitamin C and K, for which some claim this combo acts way more like high dose IV vitamin C. I have in the past presented a couple of small RCTs to support that hypothesis, which some have called junk or trash studies naturally enough. None the less, since my previously rapidly rising PSA dropped 25% during the 2 months following my Bx and preceding my RP, and the Vt C/K was the ONLY change, it did make me wonder if there was actually something here worthy of further investigation. YES, I know, a dropping PSA means nothing(unless of course it is a conventional procedure of drug to treat PCa, then- and only then- it is news to celebrate). Still, that was the first time over many years that my PSA failed to increase significantly, MUCH LESS actually went down. So I could care less what anyone else thinks, until proven otherwise I consider that to have been good results and for sure NOT bad results, and worthy of further research.
3: I think I have posted here in the past about
MDs in ICUs at large medical centers who have been having a tremendous success in saving lives from sepsis by adding IV Vitamin C and thiamin to their regular treatments. These guys- despite the dire warnings because there are not yet any large RCTs approving this non prescript
ion drug addition ( although IV V-C is probably prescript
ion, still drug companies have little interest in promoting it ), these guys have been refusing to ignore the obvious and just let folks die. Last I read they now had several hundred success stories in their "trial". The trial part being small(maybe 47 on each side?), but with so much success that they now just have a much larger clinical series, no placebo controlled trial to it. These plenty smart, experienced, ICU Docs( Paul Marik et all ) are not waiting for the approval of academia, as they SO FAR seem to getting a stout boost in lives saved, along with the usual making of expensive urine.
Anyway, it is while I was having another look at this "research" or clinical practice, that I came upon this book about
Vitamin C and thought it seemed worth a read. I(hopefully) don't have sepsis, but anyone of us could end up in ICU with sepsis- after a surgical procedure or what not. Plus, there are of course many other health care claims for vit C other than being a huge help against the killer sepsis.
