recovery from TUMT (transurethral microwave therapy)

I had the TUMT procedure almost 11 weeks ago and I'm barely urinating better than before. I had a suprapubic tube inserted inserted instead of a catheter.

Everything still hurts. It feels like there's a needle at the base of my penis at times, other times, it's like a hot poker, other times it just itches like crazy. Sitting down is uncomfortable both because of those things and because it feels like I always have to urinate. I think some of that is because of the SP tube.

I'm also on a couple antibiotics.

Has anyone else had this experience? The procedure obviously didn't work. I'm in week eleven and my flow is very, very minimal. I void using the SP tube.

Does pyridium help with the burning and itching? It's available over the counter - watch out - it stains.

I know that it often takes two TURPS because scar tissue and swelling from the first one seal it shut. What does the urologist say?
