After what seems like a year of indecision, actually just a couple weeks, about what treatment to choose, today I did it. ADT & RT for me. It seemed like I'd change my mind every day about which way to go. Started Casodex today & Trelstar in about a week. I will begin RT in 6 months. I just pray the side effects will be minimal. Thanks to everyone here for posting your experiences. They helped a lot.

Deciding is the hard part. Congratulations on that.

Now, just get it done. The SEs aren't fun, but you can make it.

I felt an enormous sigh of relief when I made my treatment decision. Hope you similarly feel much better.

Most important, good luck to you! ADT can be trying, but just try and power through it. BTW, what type of RT will you be using?

PS Not to be nosy, but can you post a signature with your stats? That's always helpful for the rest of us.

Harley, a great decision and you will do very well.

Many men on the forum have the experience with this method to show you the type of results to expect and all of us will be happy to share our experience and, where appropriate, advice based on our experience.

Best wishes.....and get ready for that first hot flash!! Mine was an absolutely expected surprise. But i made it through and can have some great laughs about most of the experience.

My brother in law took the same route nearly five years ago but didn't include the HT meds. He also used IMRT for a couple months. He has done very well with undetectable PSA and no lasting side effects. He has had a lot of heart problems and reported the only problem was severe fatigue mid way through, but that cleared up within a couple of months after the radiation stopped.
