Posting my nine months update on my journey post ldr brachytherapy. Overall everything progressing well. Slightly disappointed with the slow down in psa reduction of .1 in the last quarter as the first two readings dropped substantially from 6.2 to 2 and from 2 to .7. Having said that it has still dropped and is going in the right direction. Apart from bouts of feeling fatigued and a few bowel problems everything else is going fine. I am still down to one flowmax every day and my stream although weak is steady. Good luck to everyone on their own individual journeys, keep positive and we can beat this.

So far so good. Looks like it is doing what you want. It takes some men as long as five years after brachytherapy to find the lowest PSA (nadir). Don't be surprised in about a year if the PSA goes up and then back down. That is the post radiation PSA bounce and is very common but can be a surprise. Also sounds like the side effects are minimal and getting better. In all, a great report. Keep it going in theis direction.

The drop does slow as you approach nadir.

Scot, you are doing great. Look at my PSA trend in my signature. At two years I was still .8 and it took me six years to reach my nadir of .1.

I can't remember your age but there is no reason for you be be feeling fatigued from the seeds at this point since the radiation is pretty much gone no matter which isotope was used. Maybe consider some more exercise and/or check with your PCP on any vitamin deficiencies. I was lucky and avoided any bowel problems but in any case yours should resolve fairly soon.

I agree with Jim about the fatigue. You may want to investigate other causes for it.

Your numbers look great. One thing can be said for sure, no two LDR, PSA journeys are the same. You are entitled to feel good with your downward trend. Also know that there are so very few LDR recurrences on this forum which helps me and hopefully you, sleep better at night.

I'm another example of someone that has had up and down PSAs and took a very long time to approach a nadir.
