HI, brothers and sister I hope you are doing good in this battle with prostate cancer. I t has been a little while, but after 13 years I am doing
fine PSA 0.005 thanks God.
I do have a question, my friend just called me to tell me he was diagnostic with PC and he want my advice.
I went with surgery, but if I have to do it ageing I will do the see implantation.
I will like your opinion.
My FRIEND AGE 58
GLEASON 3+3 IN ONLY ONE CORE.

Hi Gold Horse, nice to see you back here again and I'm glad you are doing well.

Re your friend, if you could provide us with some more details you will get better answers. Things like his age, Gleason score, PSA, number and % of cores positive, initial staging (e.g. T1C), prostate size, etc.

If your friend is G-6 in only one core, he probably can safely postpone active treatment for a while..He should investigate AS, Active Surveillance instead of subjecting himself to the risks of surgery or radiation which might be over-treatment in his case. He should have a nice long talk with a Medical Oncologist and see what his options are..

With only one core of G6, I agree with Fairwind, that he should consider AS, and not rush into treatment, which could leave him with many years of quality-of-life issues. Here is a link for him to read:
