I had "signed up" for VA treatment about
10 or 15 years ago..Back then I was a "Cat 7" priority, low on the VA totem pole. Then I never used VA services because of long wait times..But recently, when I needed help paying for Zytiga and now Xtandi, I had to "renew" my VA membership and was moved up to Cat 5...But then they checked my financial records and put me in Cat 8. I still get all the VA services including hearing aids (what a Godsend!) but I have to pay modest co-pays for drugs and services.
I agree with the other guys that the chances of cut-backs are remote..Also, as the WW-2 and Korean War guys pass away, the number of patients using the VA seems to be decreasing..I have received services at both the Denver and Tucson VA hospitals and have no complaints...
Starfinder, looking at your signature, I think the treatment you will receive at one of the large VA Medical Centers will be equal to what you will receive at Kaiser..They treat thousands of guys with advanced prostate cancer and they do it as well as anyone..
