Updating....my dads MRI came back good, only showing cancer in the bed of the prostate. Dr is sending him to radiology oncologist but he figures that they will do radiation therapy and hormones and they hope to be able to kill it all of the way this time.

That is what we are hoping! He said since it did come back, this is the best outcome we could have hoped for. Just praying the radiation and hormone therapy goes well!

Given that it's all in the prostate bed, the RT+HT combo will knock that out of the park.

the RT should be mostly a non-event, but HT can be a bit rough on some. Still manageable, not fun, but it can be gotten through.

That’s definitely what we want to hear! I wondered how radiation and HT would affect someone. I believe theybsais the HT would be Lupron.

You may want to ask the RO if he will apply a boost to the visible mets. Once they are visible on an MRI, they may be too big to be controlled with the standard radiation dose. Some ROs will even use HDR brachytherapy or SBRT for this boost.

Ok. I know the urologist said he wasn’t sure if the RO would just zap the bed or the entire pelvis. Not sure if that is what you mean or not?
