Do Some Radiation Treatments Reduce PSA Quicker

Was wondering if some forms of radiation treatment are recognized to more quickly reduce the PSA level than others - and wondering if that even matters.

It seems the other HDRBT guys have followed similar paths as mine, and my PSA is 0.3 now 2 1/2 yrs after treatment.

Spoke to a friend today who had SBRT 3 months ago and his PSA is tested at 0.1 And remember posts at this site from Yooper who had LDRBT and who also had his PSA drop very rapidly after.

And it's not that I am worried that I am not lower, just curious about what is expected with different treatments.

I am not aware that the treatment mode makes much difference. Radiation will ionize some cells for initial cell death, but most the cells are damaged by the radiation such that they can no longer divide and eventually die (apoptosis). For some cells this will take years, thus radiation patients may not reach their eventual nadir for three or four years.
