Yesterday, I had my brachy-boost procedure and now find that urinating is excruciatingly painful.
Fortunately, my bladder is not full. I’ve stopped drinking and eating so as not to make exacerbate the situation.
I'll be calling the cancer agency soon to find out is there's anything that can be done. Currently, I'm taking the maximum dose of Aleve and Tylenol.

You should certainly call your doctors's office. If offered an option to talk to a nurse that would probably be faster. You won't be the only guy to call in with this problem and the nurse will have the answer at hand. Usually, I think they will recommend a drug called pyridium which is available over the counter (and at a higher dose by prescript
ion).

call a doctor. If things get completely blocked, you may need to get to an ER. You don't want total blockage.
Yell for every doctor/nurse you can get.

I was also prescribed pyridium like the guys mentioned. Turns your pee a nice shade of orange. But it did help

Aleve works the best for over the counter stuff. Talk to the Doc....there are several very good drugs to deal with painful urination.
May all beings be well.

I suggest you look into Flomax and similar drugs

For what ever reason pyridium isn't available in Canada.
However, after taking a long walk the burning sensation stopped.
I was told to take both Aleve and Tylenol but these two painkillers didn't address the burning.
I'm also taking Flomax but my flow isn't yet a problem. Apparently, Flomax is 'critical' in a few weeks.

It might be critical, might not. I had no flow issues with 44 fractions over nine weeks. No medication.

I had a couple of days of burning after HDR BT and was told to take AZO. I am not sure it helped since it still burned, but maybe it dulled the burning. I have my second treatment tuesday and will have to deal with it again. Denis

I’ve read on the mighty Internet that some Canadian pharmacists will compound it themselves (phenazopyridine). Have you looked into that?

The burning pain lasted just over a day so it's not an issue anymore.
