Valentine's Day cards with a cancer theme: bad taste or not?

This is probably one of those things that we in the "cancer club" will "get," maybe also get a chuckle from, and even appreciate the thought.

Others not in our "club" might find such Valentines in bad taste, or even appalling. But those folks are not in a position to understand the thought, and the common experience that unites us, that's behind the sending of such V-day cards. They won't "get" it.

Clearly a matter of personal taste, but it's interesting to see that V-day greetings and cards of this nature do exist and are out there.

as a poet I don't like to mix my metaphors. A V-day card with a cancer undertone isn't something I am likely to send.

It sounds like a terrible idea to me. But for the record here is one I remember from when I was a kid:
