I had my ninth year PSA test last week and it came out as .03. This was the first time using the non sensitive test. I don't know whether that is considered normal or if I should follow it up with a sensitive test to be sure. Any suggestions.

If you click on a member's name to the left of a comment you can see his/her last ten posts. In his previous post Ed reported himself Gleason 8 with RP in 2/09. His pathology report showed EPE but negative margins.

you are concerned so yeah do the other test. I think you're fine but you need that peace of mind.

A retest is always in order.

Ed,

You seem to be already using the ultrasensitive PSA test. You can't get a reading of 0.03 on a conventional PSA test. It's a low number.

Tall Allen, My doctor's nurse told me that it was the standard test. I always thought that the standard test cannot detect below 0.1. I'll get the real answer from my doctor next week when I see him. Thank you all for your responses.
