It's so very interesting that the extraordinary experience of synchronicity that I had back in 2015, involving thinking about
my departed wife at the same moment as I was hearing a song that we both loved together.
I stand by every word I wrote in that thread. Whatever it was, that event did happen.
For those of you unfamiliar with what this synchronous event was that happened to me, here is my report of it and the discussion we had about
it:
/www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=35&m=3360142Has such a remarkable synchronous event happened to me again since then? No, it has not.
But that is neither a validation nor a condemnation of such an experience. Perhaps experiences such as that one that I had are one-to-a-customer in this world.
But, either way, that event that happened in my life back in 2015 was valid
as experience, whether it was indeed merely a coincidence, or was in fact an instance of some sort of paranormal law of nature happening, one with which we are not yet familiar.
As for magical thinking, it has been argued that science, as we know and practice it, with all its rigor and precision,
began as magic. That is, with the intention of controlling nature and our place in it, first through rituals (magic), and later on through observationally-derived laws of nature (science). Each in its own way, magic and science, proved to be a tool in our mastering of our environment.
Even Einstein noted that something as presumably unscientific as imagination (something akin to magic) has a significant place in the making of scientific progress.
I have my own belief, my own conclusion, as to what that event was that happened to me three years ago, and what it meant. For me, that belief can only be called into question if it can be shown to be in conflict with some established scientific principle. I will indeed yield to science. Until then, as I said, I have my own belief.
But it may also turn out, some day, that such events are themselves covered by science, but in a way we just don't understand yet.
