Out of ther Zero Club (again) and have questions

Well, my post radiation uPSA was slowly climbing and once again my fears were realized. In January I was at 0.054 and five months later I'm now 0.150. So much for the zero club! My concern now is doubling time and I'm not very well versed in that. It appears numbers in the ultrasensitive range don't mean much, at least from the calculators I've seen but a PSA that tripled in 5 months can't be good, at least it would appear so to me. I need to get educated on doubling time, and any words of wisdom on this topic would be welcomed and appreciated. I'm on the cusp of retirement in two weeks and have some big financial decisions to make that could greatly impact my future. Basically, I just need to know how long I've got left. That's not too much to ask, right?

I am in very similar situation like yours. My Mo told me to do an mri and come back
In 3 month and we should not over treat. How did you find about the 1 met with
Your very low psa ? Which pet scan did you do?any plans to do radiation to treat

Thanks for the responses. I don’t expect my MO will recommend starting any Tx yet though I did read that with low doubling times ADT is more effective started sooner than later.
Ak123, I had a bone biopsy that ruled out PCa on the bone met. It was not a met after all. I had a F18 choline bone scan.
In the shop, thanks for that. I know the numbers are small but didn’t know low numbers are unreliable when calculating DT. I did not have any HT with my SRT. Maybe I should have?
Any other comments or suggestions welcomed. I need to learn all I can. I read one study from 2013 that indicated median survival for stage 4 PCa with doubling times less than three months was 16_26 months. That seemed kind of alarming!

Reading up on doubling time, I found some stuff on pomegranate juice that it can decrease DT by as much as 50%? This was written back in 2010 so I'm assuming it must fall into the snake oil category or I'm guessing everyone here would be on it and I wouldn't just be hearing about it now. Myth?

I think it's highly unlikely you can find any peer reviewed scientifically conducted research results but good luck!

Thanks for all the replies. I see my Uro on Monday and bumped up my appointment with the MO to Tuesday, not that I expect him to do anything at this point in time. I think we’ll talk about more frequent testing though. Like Andrew said above, I’m most likely headed for HT, although my RO who I see in July indicated that once my PSA gets to 1.0 we can get an Axumin PET scan and if it shows any metastasis we can start plying whackamole to delay HT. Will just have to see how things play out. In the meantime, I’ll just focus on living. Technically will retire June 1 although will continue to work, for health insurance mostly, until I don’t feel like it anymore. Every work day after 6/1 becomes optional and the wife and I are building a house that’s about two months from finished so plenty of positives to focus on and keep busy.

Staying busy is good great therapy and building a house will definitely keep you busy. We are in the middle of remodeling our existing house and adding on a master suite and large office/exercise area and that's consuming all of my time and energy. I'm too busy to mope around .
