93 yrs old seeing Uro ?

Good Morning All , my father 93 yrs young , is headed to the urologist on monday . He had a turps procedure about 30 years ago and has been taking flowmax since then . He says he has many bathroom visits at nite and has severe urgency where he wets himself. I never did tell him that I have PC , didnt need to worry him .

So my guess is that the Uro , will give him a digital exam , and probably start him off on anti-biotics for a few weeks in case of prostitus ,Im guessing . My sister was a caregiver for a older man ,89 , that had the turps procedure done at that age and had to be on a cathather until he passed at 96 . My Dad would not like that . So how far does a uro go when your this old ? Thanks SemperFi, John

@nd, how far a Uro would go will depend on the Uro and more importantly it will depend on your dad and those of you around him. I'm sure you are well aware of the likelihood that if tested he would probably have some PCa. If you are simply looking to help relieve the urgency and frequency symptoms you might inquire about Finasteride or Dutasteride. These will help reduce the size of the prostate and can be combined with the flow max or an equivalent like Rapi Flow to combat the symptoms you described.

I have been taking Dutasteride for several months and it has reduced my prostate from 67cc down to 42cc which has helped me with the frequency and urgency issues I was having.

Maybe he will teach him how to do kegels, and give him tips like drinking no fluids at night; reducing coffee, tea, coke, alcohol and fruit juices; peeing before bed; and avoiding natural diuretics (like celery and asparagus).
