...TA, if you're following this thread, tell me please: How can any decent pathology lab call something a secondary 3 if it's really a 5? I can see a difference of opinion over a single step, but two steps?
I'll jump in. Just guessing here, but it's more likely both numbers were bumped. So a 3+4 becomes a 4+5. Which one is shown first is a judgement call about
which is more prevalent. I had a couple of 4+5 become 5+4.
Those changes significantly affect the treatment options, going from unfavorable intermediate risk into the high risk group.
I too was a bit surprised by the 4+3's that became 4+5's.
This can be a learning experience to others -- namely do get that second opinion. I held off for at least 4 weeks or more in the false belief that a NCCI center of excellence should get the pathology right. Yikes.
Just clarify, the initial pathology was G8 -- so I'm not entirely convinced my treatment options are changing. I do have a greater unease about
whether I'll be seeing this again in the years ahead after my initial ADT + IMRT + brachy boost.
And to Saipan, we did finish the bottle (though it had been
opened a day before) AND splurged with chocolate and glass of 2003 port for desert (after steamed salmon with TJ's quinoa salad).
